Museum Essay 20th Century Art-

This art-work was created by a guy called Juan Gris. Juan Gris was a spanish painter and sculpter who lived and worked in Madrid. The painting above, is called Guitar and Glass. This art-work was created in the yea 1914. The form of art used in this painted which juan used is called cubism. Cubism was one of the first truly modern movements that made art more visible. Cubism was developed by famous historical artists called Pablo Picasso and Georges Branques, with their revolutionary style of modern art. Pablo and Georges both believed that creativity was the right way to go and doing things “outside the box” by using geometric 3 dimensional shapes. In this painting , juan used a total of 4 colors with 1 of them happen to be with different contrasts. This painting shows a oval shaped figure with diamond shapes in the interior with black and grey colorings. The image happen to illustrate a sort of illusion with it , combining a guitar with a table. The painting shows glass witch appears to be the oval shape because you can see through it which shows a music note.

This artwork was created by an artist named Franz Kline. Franz painted this during the period of the the Vietname War in the year of 1954. The form of art Franz used for this painting is called Abstract Impressionism. Abstract Expressionism was never an idea label for the movement which grew up in New York in the 1940's and 1950'5, Although it started in the post-World War 2 art movement in American art. Most of the artists associated with Abstract Expressionism matured in the 1930s. They were influenced by the era's leftist politics, and came to value an art grounded in personal experience. Abstract Impressionism is the form of art that avoid the status quo of what an artist should do or how the art is made,They broke the barriers and helped new artist take chances and discover the possibility of being different and thinking “outside the box”. This painting illustrates a shadow like black paint, basically dried off to demostrate the change of color. In my opinion, This painting shows a person siting either on a chair or on one of the sticks as showed. Looking into a telescope or even on a desk doing some type of work.

-Professor i was not able to attach my sketch of the paintings so i will show you on you/re next lecture.
